Trump’s words reveal more loyalty to Putin than to Ukraine.
I’ve decided to do a fun little experiment in answering this question.
How many times, I wonder, has Trump publicly complimented, spoken highly of or praised Vladimir Putin in glowing terms? It’s searchable and well-documented — 47 times! That’s a lot. By contrast, the American President has spoken only 12 times about his youngest daughter, Tiffany, in positive terms.
When we look at negative statements, Trump has criticized Ukrainian President Zelensky a whopping 32(!) times in public statements. He’s been critical of Putin only 19 times in public, and always in far milder and less explosive statements than he has when he speaks of the Ukrainian leadership.
There’s a long, publicly searchable and readily available track record of Donald Trump speaking about Putin in a kind, affectionate and respectful manner that he doesn’t even use when speaking of his own children, with the exception of his oldest daughter Ivanka. It’s weird. Furthermore, he has publicly referred to as Zelensky as “a dictator without elections” but has never, once, referred to Vladimir Putin as a dictator.
When the Nazis suffered crippling fuel shortages in the final year of WWII, it was the beginning of the end for Hitler. Relentless Ukrainian strikes on Russian energy and fuel production threatens to limit Russia’s ability to continue it’s war efforts, and secure the victory Putin so badly wishes for (and needs, to survive!) and it is painfully obvious that Trump has a special place in his heart for the Russian President. Hell, he demonstrably praises Putin more than some of his own children, and more than any other head of state in the world; if this was any other man than the President of the world’s mightiest country, you’d suspect he has a little crush…
