A view on Lavrov/the invasion of Ukraine ...

In today’s rubric War Criminals I will talk about Sergei Lavrov, Empire Re-Builder Putin’s puppet minister of foreign c̶o̶n̶f̶l̶i̶c̶t̶s̶ affairs.

Back in the day, Sergey Lavrov was an eloquent diplomat believed to rise high in ranks.

Part Armenian, he was stationed in Turkey as Russian ambassador, and professed his love for the country and its people whose hospitality would stay in the hearts of his family. Point being the guy was no hater!

Sergey was a doting dad. His daughter Ekaterina was born and raised in the United States where he served as Russian embassador. She received the best Anglo-Saxon education Russian tax payers’ money can buy, in Columbia University and Cambridge.

“Although I was an only child, I had to achieve everything myself, not to depend on my parents so I studied hard.”

A nice, talented, educated, hard-working man with a wonderful family. What could possibly go wrong?

In Cambridge, Ekaterina was aggressively courted by Alexander Vinokurov, whose businessman father used groups of thugs to raid businesses to build his pharma empire. He was under multiple investigations facing a lengthy sentence. After the couple got married, all the charges were dropped.

Lavrov’s connections helped his company Marathon Group receive lucrative contracts from Chemezov’s son, Putin’s friend, whose pharma conglomerate has ballooned in size after the introduction of import substitution.

I cannot divulge Alexander’s strong-arm tactics and his high-profile victims in pharma business, let’s just say that he doesn’t leave office without two guards posted on two sides of the street, hands on the holster, and flanked by two bodyguards as he quickly descends the stairs and jumps into an armoured car at the building entrance.

If Ekaterina was forcefully married into a gangsta family, Sergey Lavrov fared much worse. A dictator gave him an important role to destabilise world’s democracies, EU and Nato, and threaten neighbouring countries.

Lavrov, a linguist, who was once prided on his well-spoken speeches, whose wife is arts connoisseur, learned to talk like a hooligan, use street slang and swagger like he owned the hood.

Sergey Lavrov’s descent into darkness culminated in the invasion of Ukraine and the eerie justification he concocted for “special operation” against the eastern neighbour to Russians many of whom have friends and relatives there:

“Liberation of Ukraine from oppression of neo-Nazis.”

This announcement was followed by air bombardment of apartment blocks and kindergartens in Ukraine.
