Why do you think Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with European leaders after his meeting with Trump?
Zelenskyy talked to the European leaders after his meeting with president Trump in the White House, because it was the end of the day on Friday for Trump, who was scheduled to return to his home in Florida.
“I spoke with our European partners – the leaders of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer, Germany Friedrich Merz, Italy Giorgia Meloni, Finland Alexander Stubb, Norway Jonas Gahr Store, and Poland Donald Tusk, as well as with the heads of the European Union Ursula fon der Leyen, Antonio Costa, Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte,” posted Zelenskyy.
“I shared details of my conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump. We discussed many important issues. The main priority now is to protect as many lives as possible, guarantee security for Ukraine, and strengthen all of us in Europe. That is exactly what we are working for,” explained president of Ukraine.
“Our national security advisors will discuss the next steps. We are coordinating our positions. I am grateful for the conversation, for all the support, and for the readiness to stand with Ukraine,” concluded Zelenskyy.
German chancellor Merz posted:
My take: there is a plan in place in case Putin refuses to end the war. It involves Tomahawk missiles, and I’m not excluding the possibility that these missiles and launchers are already within 24-hour accessibility to be engaged in Ukraine.
As I explained in an earlier post, Ukraine only needs 50–60 Tomahawks to completely disable Russia’s ability to trade crude oil from the European part of Russia: the 3 oil loading facilities are located in ports on the Baltic Sea and Black Sea, and 15–20 Tomahawks hitting each port would destroy them substantially, halting Russia’s oil exports.
Ukraine is quite capable of launching a massive attack with its own missiles (Flamingo and Long Neptune), but Tomahawks are just better and more precise. I believe Ukraine had been stockpiling missiles for such an attack for months.
This massive attack will happen — with or without U.S.-supplied Tomahawks — if Putin continues reject the idea of a ceasefire.
